Kinda a random thought, I was just listening to bold as love and at around 1:46 he starts the solo then at 1:50 it sounds like he turns his guitar volume up, which distorts it into that glorious super sludgy sound for the solo.
Obviously, when he flipped the guitar upside down the slanted bridge pickup, became slanted the other way. I've heard alot of people say that that had an effect on his tone. Well, in the bold as love solo, was he using the upside down slanted bridge pickup to get that sound? or was it just the neck pickup?

Im listening to it right now... it sounds like the neck pickup, no matter what position it in, the bridge would sound thinner i think...

well since the bridge pickup is slanted the other way, that means the bass would be tighter and the treble strings would be further from the bridge, making it smoother.

gotta be the neck pickup, the slant only accounts for about an inch of distance
