I was wiring my friend's Livemetal humbucker into his LP but the wiring was weird... On the pickup's diagrams it shows that the caps from the tone pots should have one end one of the lugs, the other grounded to the top of the pot (or bottom) but on his guitar, both ends of the caps are attacked to a lug of the tone and a lug of the volume. I just figured it's another way to wire it and that it doens't make much difference but I was wondering what you guys have to say about it.
Secondly: I think I wired it correctly but I didn't notice a much higher output than with the 500T pickups he had in there. It was hard to get pinch harmonics out of it and it didn't pick up harmonics as well as my FullShred. The pickup sounded ok and did have output so it could be two things
1) both batteries aren't brand new
2) there's one wire I didn't wire properly. I grounded the bare wire where the outside 'wire' (if you have 2 wires Gibson pickups, they're concentric wiries: the outside 'circle' is metallic and is the ground wire, the 'inside' wire is insulated and is the hot) i.e at the back of a volume pot. The white wire with the resistor is wired on the same lug which has one end of the cap, the red wire to the red wire in the battery clip, and the black wire from the battery clip to one of the 'anchor' thingy's lugs. But I had NO idea on which to put it so I put it where a black wire from the switch was attached. I have no idea how correct it is. The pickup DOES work and does have output. I just felt there should be more.
If anyone has a Les Paul with a LiveMetalwire, could you tell me where that black wire from the battery clip goes, with picture? It should go to the ring or sleeve (I don't have the diagram in memory) but on a LP you can't access the switch or output directly to check on the colors
By the way he's using it with a 500T in the neck position.
If anyone can help I'd be grateful thanks!

Use 2 new batteries. Using mismatched batteries in ANY application will hinder performance.
I see. I'll tell him that and we'll try again.
I also forget to screw the pickup higher than a passive pickup would be
Jeremy, I WAS using a diagram But on Les Paul you can't access directly the switch or the input ring and I didn't know which connection on that little anchor thing was which. Thanks though
