Got my new Mockingbird last week and had to wait on the pickups but finally got them installed. Looks bad ass and wanted to share.

BeforeAfterIf that guitar in the background is what I think it is, you have quite the BC Rich harem.

Very nice.

badass is exactly the word I would use to describe it.

That guitar is awesome!

Rock On

BTW, refresh us on what pickups you put in.

Aleclee if you're thinking it's an American Bich Supreme, you'd be right.

and Kac I had a Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge before now theres a Duncan Custom in the bridge was a DiMarzio PAF and now theres a Jazz.

And just to show them off yet again heres my babies...
wow sweet guitars
that bich must have been a ***** to wire up

Cuz ppl always ask. Heres the control lay outs...Bich:
Front knob Master Volume
straight behind that is Preamp Vol
straight behind that is Master Tone
the knob to the left is Preamp vol and to the right is Rhythm Vol

standard 3 pos p/u switch
the group of three switches is preamp on off pramp on off and then phase

the group of two switches are coil taps and the chicken head switch is a 6 position varitone

the mockingbird

Front knob is Master Vol
behind that is Preamp Vol
behind that ton

3 position p/u switch
single mini switch is Preamp on off
and the group of three is phase switch and coil taps and then again is the chicken head 6 pos varitone.

I know after hunting these down over the years and finally paying an arm and a leg for them, youd think i was crazy if i disconnected all that stuff. well, i did. in the bich it deteriorated the sound and in the mocking bird it all just got in the way. But i love the way it looks!

I'll take the one on the right, nice an uncluttered. I always wanted on e of the US Mockingbirds. What is the scale length on those?

got any pics of inside the control cavity?

I like my archtop but I always thought all the knobs and switches were pretty neat looking. They all play and sound awesome. THe scale is 24.5.

I don't have any pics of the control cavities connected but i can take some disconnected.

You read my mind.

Cool guitars, and they aren't even my quot;stylequot;.

switches are sexy

slade

Thanks Artie and dangly you're a funny dude.

Looks much better now. They do look absolutely gorgeous, I'd kill (at least a fly) for a red US mockingbird.

How's the sound different now? Are you satisfied?

The DiMarzio's actually sounded a lot better than I thought once I got a set of 10's on it. I think it was set up with 9s maybe even 8's they were very twangy and didn't hold the tuning so well. The high E and B would go out when I bent the strings. I actually got used to the DiMarzios during the week I had them in there so when I changed em out for the Duncans I had to get used to them. Now that all is setup as far as pickup height and intonation I'm very satisfied. The DiMarzios had a very compressed and over driven sound to them, whereas the Duncas have a more linear over drive tone and more chunk without losing the definition. I'm very happy.

I love Mockingbirds and Bichs, and yours are the reason why! I want those guitars... then again i want everyones guitars!
