well it came today, my new amp. It sounds so thick and rich with humbuckers and with single coils, but i can still get my teles to twang with the best of them. It has great sustain and is really loud even for a 32 watt amp. when the kt66's get good and hot and the volume is cranked up it just sings. the distortion is like a great big milkshake thick and creamy but you can pick out all the flavors. it is very articulate for such a rich sounding amp. the cleans are just a little less bright than a fender amp but none of the definition is gone. Dr. Z is an amazing builder.

take a look at my 15th anniversary model (2003) it will have a maple or mahogony face plate on it soon instead of the brown grill cloth.

looks great .. I'm jealous!!!

I love blonde amps!

how did i know you wouldn't miss this one curly. I got the face plate idea from the pics of the combo you showed me.

i hope you have a blonde combo in the near future to show off.

I love it!

Someone brought up the topic of Dr. Z the other day. I was checking out the website. I fell in love with the Mini, the Carmen Ghia, and the Route 66.

Just when I thought I had my budget worked out.

You, sir, are pure evil that just so happens to be THE amp i am gassing for beyond all belief.

Evil. Pure Evil.

congrats ... enjoy your new little tone monster ... some clips perhaps?

peace

T4D, i wish i could get you some clips but they will have to wait til i get some recording software up and running on the mac.

evil? i try not to be but if that is what i am well i guess i can't help it then.

a little update, i just bought a zbest cab to go with it.

That thing will look killer with the matching cab! When I was going crazy wheelin and dealin amps for a few years, I had one of those in black w/salt/pepper grillcloth.
It's one of those amps I wish I hadn't sold, but I needed to sell it quick to raise cash for my Ecstasy head. I wish I could have that amp in a 1-12 combo, now.

Any chance I can bring my amp over to u'r house and we can give the two of them a little alone time?

Too many knobs.

Congrats on the new acquisition!

They are nice, I had one. It was just too much for me. Too freaking loud man. That ultralinear power supply is a monster. Don't let the watts fool you. If it had reverb, I might not have sold it, just invested in better ear plugs! Congrats. And, welcome to the world of boutique.

brandon, bring it over. we can leave them be for a while. but i think i would want to play with them both.

Scott, it is loud, even through my 1x12. i think i might need an air break or something.

there is one other thing. the cab and head are not matching colors but once i put a face plate on the amp it will look better sitting on top of a black on black cab.

very nice man!!!

NEW STUFF ROCKS!!!

I have one of those little Weber gizmos in 8 ohms for no more than 50 watts I'd probably sell for cheap. It's an older style mini-dump. It has an adjustable range of attenutation. I bought it when I got that Vibroverb and then I sent back the VV due to some rattles in the chassis. Now this dump is sitting around unused. PM if you want to check it out.

I would have liked to have tried it with the 66. I might have ended up keeping the 66 if I could have tamed the volume a bit.

Great score! Poolside jam anytime soon?

Very nice indeed. Is it wired class-A, by chance? (To lazy to research it myself right now...)

no poolside jam at my place. it isn't my pool, but i was a great backdrop.

Scott i will pm you about the weber thing. thanks

Scott

Nobody wants to see any blonde haired seafoam green little b@stards running around!!!

Very nice amp MFJ....that'll look killer with the matching cab; sounding killer is a gimme !!!!

CONGRATS!!!

sorry puckboy, not gonna have a matching cab. i got a zbest but it will be a blonde head on a black zbest cab. i am changing the grill on the head so the colors will look nice together though. I am gonna have my friend make me a wooden front for the head. i was thinking some nice red mahogony or some figured maple, which ever he can find easily.
