hello everyone,
i am looking for new pickups for my ibanez s2120 (mahogay body, bolt maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets 25.5quot; scale, floyd rose ect). This is a great guitar and i dont play it enough b/c the pickups in it now arent that good. My amp is a line 6 duoverb.
I would like to make this a 'shred' guitar because that is part of my playing that i would like to improve on. So far i have narrowed it down to either a distortion set or a full shred set. Any suggestions or opinions between these two sets?
my amp gets plenty of distortion/sustain so it doesnt really matter if the pup is high output or not. Also the guitar is a little dark when it comes to tone.
I think EMG's are the only way to go for shread, but if EMG didnt exist I'd get a distortion neck and invader bridge.
bill lawrence L500 i would recommend the xl bridge and lead or regular neck.

Simple!!!
Distortion bridge, Full Shred neck, go for it.
According to the tone chart, the full shred is brighter.
1 for full shred neck i want to get that for the guitar i plan to get down the road with an OFR.
dimebucker bridge/full shred neck great shredding sound and simply a lot of fun to play with
