How do you feel about reverse headstocks? Were talking Fender style here, but I guess it holds true for Jackson, Ibanez, etc. I think I want a strat with a reverse CBS headstock. If you see someone with a guitar like this what do you think?
I think the only person who could pull it off is Jimi.
I'll stick to my reverse Gibson.
They are a pain in the backside to string up and tune with all the tuners on the wrong side. I guess cosmetically they look OK although they remind me of all the hairband shredders from the 80's.
I'd just post the emoticon but it'd be a little waste of a post, so I post this too. I love reverse headstock. My favorite is the ESP one, then Jackson, then Strat. Oh and the Hamer one looks cool too.
They're alright. I like the strat headstock above all others, and I think it looks good upright, or reversed
Rock On !
I guess my LP and my 355 would just look the same anyway. Except the logo would be backwards...
On the other hand, a reverse 6-in-line is probably better from an ergonomic point of view -- just reach up and grab the tuner, no lowering the neck and reaching up over the top.
They're ok, but I'd never pay for one.
They look good if done right (Jackson, ESP, etc.), but I wouldn't buy a reverse-headstock guitar just because it's hard enough trying to tune with a 3 3 headstock..
ACK!! *waits (im)patiently for Warmoth Tele*
I dig em, and the low E sounds a bit more percussive to my ears on them, which is a good thing in most cases.
I love 'em. Spice of life, I have both.
Reversed Fender's look cool, as long as you don't have 5 of them. Then it gets old.
I think some guitars look 'tarded with them though, like someone threw the guitar together out of spare parts. They look like someone with their shoes on the wrong feet.
Take a Rhoads, the guitar just looks right with a standard headstock. If you tilt the neck up, the whole guitar just flows, from the wing to the tip of the headstock.
With the reverse headstock, the Rhoads looks like you could throw it and it would come back to you.
I hate reverse pointy heads, but I hate them right side up as well...but Fender heads...no that's a different story. I LOVE THEM! NOthing looks as cool as a reverse Fender hearstock, and they do sound and feel different as long as you don't have a locking nut on them...

Wooooooooooooooooo!
it all depends on the guitar. for a charvel or jackson i do like a reverse pointy. for a strat, it again, all depends on the look of the guitar. i have a strat project that i am working on with a reverse strat head and the body color will be very fitting of a reverse head hehehe.

Yep. My first electric was a reverse-headstocked Charvette.
Oh...lookin above this post, I realised I have a Washburn Nuno too sitting in the office...forgot it was reversed...
i like them, but would be mildly embarrassed if someone pointed out that it's a hendrix thang. Dunno, but i still wish i had a strat with a big headstock reversed...ashes to practicle considerations
Reverse headstocks are the coolest things known to man.Mojo²
