I haven't had much time to tweak it yet, but man it sounds sick. I was blown away by how much gain is available in the tube clean voicing. I love the fat thick tone it's got, totally killer! I'm currently running it into my jc120 Head until I can find a real poweramp for it (Any suggestions?), but it still sounds pretty cool. The guy I bought it from already had a good variety of crunch tones and they all sounded pretty nice.
I was kinda worried at first that the Tube Clean would only be some kind of in between dirty tone, but I really like the range it has. It's just fat, dirty, and gritty in a very good way
I've got a few other rack units coming in fairly soon but I don't have a rack case. Can anyone suggest a good place to buy something cheap, probably around 8 spaces? I've got 5 spaces covered with the new stuff I've got coming in and I'm looking for a 2 or 3 unit poweramp. It doesn't have to be fancy, ATA specs, etc, just something that will hold everything at home. I've contacted a few places like pearsons cases but they all either don't get back to me or say that it's way too much to ship to Alaska.

I'd look for an SKB case on Ebay and see if you could get it shipped to you.
Whats the clean tone like? I've heard that mp1's have a very silky clean sound and a very 80's esque saturation . . .
Nice score man, that'll sound tight
Well with the mp1, there are three voicings:
1) Solid State Clean
2) Tube Clean
3) Tube Distortion
Solid State clean is very similar to the JC120 tone especially with the onboard chorus. It isn't exact, but it has very similar characteristics. You also have an onboard compressor (OD2) in this voicing.
Tube Clean is nice too, but needs to be turned up more and then you have to be careful or it will start to clip. Naturally, it's a bit warmer and more round sounding than the SS clean.
On the 3TM MP1, the solid state clean remains the same but the Tube Clean isn't very clean anymore. It's more punchy, fat, thick and with a very healthy amount of gain.

I have a stock MP-1 and I might get some mods for it down the road. Can you post your solid state clean settings for me? I haven't found a setting I like yet.
How much money do you have for a power amp? I found a Peavey Classic 60/60 for $200, which is hard to beat. IIRC they go on ebay for around $250.
For cases, I would try somewhere like this ( from : localhost/pearsoncases.com, from : localhost/feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...amp;frompage=222). They can also do custom cases.

Nice score man, that'll sound tightListen to the live tones on Racer X's quot;Live Extreme Volume I amp;II.quot; They use MP-1s and it'll give you a good idea of what kind of distortion (un-modded) and clean they produce.
