Ok, I got my project strat body in today....FINALLY. Before I go into details amp; pics of why I'm so irritated, I'll give you a little background info first.
Back in Feb of this year, I comissioned a fellow forum bro FROM ANOTHER FORUM to make me a single hum Kramer Baretta style body. After a 2 month wait, I recieve my quot;customquot; body and it's totally useless. All of the routings are way out of alignment, and after sending it to theodie to have him work his mojo on it, it's alot worse than what I had thought. So I email telling this guy that the body he sent me is firewood and he agreed to replace it free of charge. GOOD DEAL right?
This was in the middle of April and I already had a ton of strat parts laying around so for my replacement body, I decided to spec out a strat my way. I told him I would send my pickguard, bridge, etc... so everything would PERFECT really left no room for error. So at that time, we had the ball rolling figurativly speaking.
FF from the middle April, to today August 15. Almost 4 months to the day, I recieve my body and well, I'll let the pics speak for themselves on this.
Front/BackLooks good so far right? Lets look a little closer
Even though, I'm not the best photographer, you can clearly see the wad of putty and the router tearout in the Jackson style cutaway.
More sloppy routing and tear out.
More putty trying to hide some cracking in the body.
Even more router tear out and cracking.
It came pre dinged for me, but it was packaged well and there wasn't damage to the shipping box so....
I have no idea what the 3 fill holes are for or what they are from?
A better shot of the nice putty clump in the cutaway.
And yet some more putty from tearout.
Thats all the pix I have, but I think they show in detail why I'm not very happy. You would think after a 4 month wait I would pull that sucker out of the box and it be PERFECT. Not only is it piss poor workmanship, it looks like he just banged it out w/out any regard to detail what so ever.
You forgot another problem, it's backwards!
J/k bro, I know the problems you've had even GETTING this body, I'm sad to see it turn out this way. Looks like you've been MGS-ed for sure .
At first I was like, ooooo the controls are wrong place, then I realized it was left handed.Sorry to hear bout it dude.
Does this guy do this for a living? Did he have any references? Good lord. I hope you didn't pay too much for it.
I'd recommend you buy some lap parts and turn it into a little table with a tall lamp coming up out of the bridge pup cavity.
if it where me, i would go to his shop and see how far i could shove it up his ass.

I don't know if he does it for a living or not, but I seen several other bodies that he did that sold on ebay and they all look really good.

It's not even worth that kind of hassle bro. Hopefully he offers a refund and we'll call it a day.
