I have SD 59 trembucker and i am trying to put it in wolfgang. I filed down brackets but it seems the body of pickup is to big to fit in cavity of guitar body.
someone please help???

welcome to the forum!!

are you saying the pup will not fit in the hole in the body? is there a cover on the pup? does the guitar have a floyd or a stop tail? you might need to get a normal spaced 59

there is no cover on PU. It won't fit in cavity. I filed down the brackets on pickup because wolfgangs are pointy(bracket area cavity). I guess i need a non f spaced 59. What sucks about it is before i filed down pickup to try make it fit. i argued again and again with my dealer(where i ordered PU) and they said it would fit. And as you already know it WONT!! And obviously they won't take it back because i filed brackets from square to pointy. And to worsen it i don't want to give them anymore business but they are the only dealer for 120 miles radius of my house!!! ooohhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

thanks for your help though!!!

Hey Richie, Welcome to the forum!

So the pup is too long? Am I understand you correctly? Or is it too deep?

On my PRS I had to use the factory screws because the provided screws were too long, so you might want to check that out too.

Luke

it is too long. Because of the wider pole pieces(f spaced). It won't fit because i contacted peavey and also got a professional opinon in person in my area. Even though i knew i just wanted to know if there was another option. i get it almost in, but the bottom plate hits body by E and e strings.
even if i filed them down the boobins still stick out to far and i don't want o dremel body.

Hey do you know if i could buy a bottom plate for the pickup. Because a friend wanted to buy it since i can't use it but he needed the brackets stock(not filed to a point). Does the bottom plate come off the pickup just via screw driver? it looks that way. If so can i get one direct off seymour duncan or what????
thanks again man...

welcome.

you will need a normal-spaced duncan on a dimarzio baseplate. as for your friend, you would like to know why he needed the baseplate stock. it does not affect tone in anyway. more of a cosmetic issue. after mounting it. nobody will see anything. baseplates are available at duncan. you should give them a call. or another option is to trade your 59 for other normal-spaced duncans.

he wanted the base plate stock because when i filed it down to a point i filed threw the outer two screw holes. He has a guitar he built and he wants to use the outer two holes(which i had to file through to get bracktes pointy).
thanks...

i put it in another guitar i had laying around. it sounds good too.
