I have a '04 dlx strat that i want to change the pickups in. I've been messing around with some Tyler's and i really like the way they sound. i know they're a different level of guitar then a fender but similiar wood and so on.
I talked to someone at SD and they said that a lot of Tylers come with Classic Stacks in the neck and middle and a TB-4 in the bridge. I think I may want to go with this setup.
I was wondering if because all of these are humbuckers would I use 500k pots or 250k. Maybe a combination?
Also, i've looked at the diagram for hum, sing, sing, 1 vol, 2 tone on the sd website. it looks like the two tone controls are for the middle and neck the way they have it wired but i was wondering if you could put one of the tone controls on the bridge humbucker? would you just move one of the wires to the terminal with the bridge hot?
thanks for any information.
sorry, I can't help with the wiring question, but just want to say that although I usually like vintage type strat pickups, I've played a friend's Tyler, and that's a great sounding, versatile pickup combo.
I can tell youh this...with the Classic Stacks you should go with 250k pots, and with a JB I prefer 250k pots...
