JohnJohn did some really nice work on my favorite strat neck of all time. He re-shaped the headstock for me slightly, added a vintage Fender decal, did a custom leaf layout on the back with my initials and quot;Sweet Melissaquot; for my wife surrounding it. Thin nitro finish on the neck feels like a dream. He also leveled and polished the frets, leveled the fretboard and replaced the pukey original inlays with abalone. He did a super job, and anyone should feel comfortable sending John some work.
The original color of this body was a god awful black sparkle. I took off the finish, stained it with a light golden maple color and used a thin wipe on poly for the finish.
There is also a pic of the body, as Jolly requested in annother thread.
Man . . . thats sweet. I love what he did with the headstock. Subtle, yet nicely curved.
Still looks quot;Fender-ishquot;, but unique.
Its gorgeous.
Beautiful! Enjoy it!
Glad you like it Jeff,it was my pleasure.
I also added the skunk stripe, for anyonelooking to add one-use a router.I cut this by hand,(I have the scar to prove it ).......and I am a moron.
Thanks John....I forgot to mention the skunkstripe, but that's why I took the full pic of the back of the guitar. Quality work my friend....I am not worthy.
I cant wait until I get the neck I had JJ make for me. I've got the body sitting here, and I've been playing it with the stock neck, but it's just so quot;lifelessquot;. I really do think that the neck is the soul of the guitar. You can take a neck and put it on any guitar body, and it's like you're meeting up with that old friend from highschool. He looks completely different but it's the same ol' guy.
looks good!!! can't wait for my tele to be done!!!!
Nice work John!!!
I've been trying to throw some money John's way, but he keeps duckin' me!!! OH JOHN?????!!!!!
thats one sweet looking axe congrats!
