If you all remember I picked up new strat a few weeks ago and here's the before and after pics:
BEFORE
And After:What all did you add? I think it looks awesome btw.
Looks really nice Ryan. You put the Antiquities in her?
Here's what's been done so far:
1. Removed neck and polished until glass like finish. Rolled fretboard edges by sanding with 600 grit.
2. Installed a new 3 ply Tortise Shell pickguard and Antiquity Custom Bridge/Texas Hot/Texas Hot....Incredible pups!!! First class all the way for clean to high gain!!!
3. Dyed the knobs and switch tip with coffee to match the Ant's
4. Shielded, rewired and added an Orange Drop .022. She's as quiet as a mouse. In fact you can hardly tell when switching into the notch positions it's so quiet in 1,3,5 already. What's next......Callaham upgrades, new saddles, blender pot.........???
I tell ya what...the Callaham kit is worth every penny IMO.
That's what I am hoping. Just have to wait for my next per diem check to come in!

Man...it's so hard to explain tone.
The callaham unit is made from 100% cold rolled steel. The trem block is much more dense than the zinc blocks used by most others. As a result of the solid block, the sound is richer and fuller. The saddles are cold rolled steel, and as a result of that, IMO, the add clarity and sparkle to the tone. Combined you get a deeper richer sound with airy highs and clarity. It really just sounds like a strat should.
Annother cool thing callaham does with regard to the vintage saddles is the way the strings run through. On many quot;modernquot; vintage saddles, the string hits the edge of the slot prior to hitting the saddle, this results in less energy transfer, according to callaham. The callaham saddles leave ample room in the string slot so that the first contact the string has (other than the ball end) is with the saddle. It's attention to these small details that make callaham superior IMO.
It may be all in my head, but his stuff has me convinced.
Wow, awesome stuff.
I think only white pickguards work on sunburst Strats if it has a maple fingerboard. Tortoise shell pickguards look much better. Brilliant!
