For a long time I've wanted to have a stratocaster, but with floyd rose, 22 frets and a humbucker in the bridge. Seems like I found it from : localhost/in swedish but all the technical terms is in english anyway. It's pretty cheap (like $500-600 I guess but I'm not too sure how the USD and the SEK stand right now.) If I get it I'll replace the single coil in the neck with a hot rails (love Daves tone).

So, any advice, or anything you know about this kind of strat (japan 89-90)?

Man, I love those Strats. Wish I had one myself. It looks to be in good condition. Ask for more pics from the seller, close-ups of possible. If those check out OK, snag it. It looks like the Floyd has a recessed routing from this pic but that could be shadow. I could've had one of those in seafoam green.

Thanks for your reply. yes they are lovely. :bliss:

I've mailed him a bunch of questions asking about the floyd and for some more picks, and about the pickups.

I like everything except the humbucker and the Floyd. The Floyd I coud live with but the humbucker has go to go.

Other than that, cool guitar.

Those S/S/H Floyd Strat's are brilliant. Forum brother Kev will confirm that. He just got one recently, but in sunburst.

If the response you get from the seller is ok, I'd pounce on it!

DONquot;T BUY IT!!!!Bad things will happen to you. You'll go blind and you'll start growing hair on the palms of your hands!!
Just to make it safe for you, send me the seller's info and I'll take care of it.

O my! Sweet buy, get that for sure man. I love that string tree its got there. I'd buy that rig, geez now I want to add it to my collection. I love that white color too.

Sweet.

Cool guitar, but lose the Floyd!!

*****in'

go for it

That's a great axe. You making plans to change the humbucker out at all? Those are about the specs I like on a good strat too. Nice thick humbucker sound, and a good clear neck single coil, great combo on a comfortable guitar.

I'll see how it is before I decide if I'll change it or not. But I thought about either the super distortion or JB if Im changing it.

I can't see those latest pics. It asks for a login.

Well, no doubt you guys will have seen mine by now...
They are great guitars. I dont think that fender has a recess. Anything you want to know i could probably tell ya, as ive just gone through all the crap that you are about to go through. DONT LET IT GET AWAY You'll regret it.

I think it's beautiful, and those are well build axe's. It's a good price, so don't let it get away if that's the guitar you want.

There were some that had a recess, they just plugged the recess with some stiff black foam like material for it the trem plate to rest on. I remember vividly since I used to sell them. There were the ones that were plainly non-recessed as well.

lol...try photobucket.

I think Fender did that pseudo-recessed route so they didn't have to reangle the neck pocket. With the trem plate sitting flat on top of the body, the saddles are higher than the standard or vintage bridges and would require an angled neck pocket or neck shims to get the proper angle for lower action. The pseudo-recessed route allows the trem plate to sit down in the body to get the saddles to the proper height without an angled neck pocket or shims. Not a bad idea actually. You still can't pull up, it behaves just like a non-recessed route.

Dammit, now you two have me gassing for one, but it would have to be seafoam green.
