I'll be installing a Hot Rails (B), Vintage Rails (M), and Cool Rails (N) in my American Deluxe Strat (replacing the S1/SCN setup) soon.
I'm going to remove the SCN pickguard assembly and set it aside, replacing it with a new pickguard and I'd like to know which wiring schematic I should use.
Also, is there any point to installing a push/pull pot for coil splitting with this setup?
Thanks!
Alan
Welcome! Here's the schematic you want to use. This does not split the individual coils.

I don't know if you are interested in retaining any of the S1 switching, but the above diagram does not incorporate it. That above diagram is a traditional strat wiring schematic with 3 SC sized humbuckers. You can split the coils if you want to, however I have found that splitting the rails doesn't produce a very good tone (very thin and weak, and of course it is prone to 60 cycle hum).
Good luck! And BTW, the CRn and VRmiddle is a great combination.
If you haven't already made your purchase, be sure to buy the bridge model of the Vintage Rails. The increased output of the bridge model balances better with the higher output CR and HR.
Thanks Mike!
I completed the upgrade and I have to say I'm very pleased with the result.
I did end up using the bridge model vintage rails in the middle and it seems to balance very well with the cool rails at the neck and hot rails at the bridge.
This seems like it will be a very versatile combination as advertised.
Thanks,
Alan
