I think it's an Epi Standard. What do you think?
its hard to tell from that pic. If I could see the top better, I could tell ya probably. It looks like a classic with a quilt top, kinda.
Hard to tell exactly...got anything closer?
Tone/vol knobs def look epi...if you could see the binding or the TOM you'd know for sure...
Color looks to be the same as my Epi Standard Plus.
Shot of the headstock will say for sure.
Here goes...it's an Epi..just trying to figure out which model. That's gonna be the Classic. The Standard and Standard Plus read quot;Standardquot; on the truss rod cover.
Made in China or Korea?
Is this yours or is it one someone is selling?
Some dude is selling it. I was interested but I've heard bad things 'bout the classics. Plus, he didn't really give it a ringing endoresement when I spoke with him. That one comes with the 60's neck, right?
classics usually don't have grovers though, do they?
BTW..I would NEVER buy an Epi on ebay or mail order without the option of sending it back...I would want to make sure it's got a mahogany body..if not...off she goes.

I believe it does have the 60's neck. They aren't bad. MF was selling them cheap earlier this year for $399. I've played them at GC and didn't really care for the neck and they felt lighter than my Standard Plus. I prefer the Standard over the Classic but I read lots of good reviews at HC on the Classics (serious reviews, not Rip Glitter entries...lol). It just depends on what you want.
The guy is local and wanted $325 for it. I am really gassing for a Paul, but I don't like the Classic necks. I have a Gibby SG standard so I prefer the fat basball bat neck. Plus the CLassic I have played seems to have a shorter neck.
Aside from the Epi Custom, are there any other Epi Paul's that stand out?
Zakk Wyldes are nice...little bigger neck....
that or the elitists...which I saw at AMS for RIDICULOUSLY low prices...
I'll dig around
yup here's the linkI don't if they screwed up the price or what...but these were going for $1100 in the spring when I was looking at them

from : localhost/flockin' way!!! Damn, that is a great deal for one of those. I've only played a couple Elitists and they were fantastic.
And yes, the Classics come with the Grover tuners now.
Yup..I'm tempted....those are really NICE guitars....no case..but so what?
all colors that price too...
Methinks epi may be scrapping that line for business reasons....better snatch 'em up now...
The Epiphone Elitist Les Paul Standard is a spectacular instrument with select woods and USA humbuckers. Our special sale price won#8217;t last forever so grab one now before they#8217;re all gone!
:from the AMS site
Wow, aren't these Elitist models on par with the American Gibson's? Do they carry these at GC? Maybe I'll go in and play one then order from these guys.
I wouldn't say that....depends on the Gibson...
binding is not over the fret...pups not as good as BBs or 49x series, no figured tops......but they ARE much nicer than a Korean/Chinese Epi..at full price I'd take a Gibson Studio....but for $799...
I've never seen them at GC...
You can always send it back at AMS...45 day return policy...
Does it have binding on the sides? And does it have those sharp frets that the Gibson faded series have?

Same binding as a Korean/Chinese epi/Jackson/Schecter/Ibanez, etc....alongside the neck, but not up the side of the fret like a Gibson...
Sharp fret ends are a QC issue..I've played fadeds and epis with good and bad fret jobs...
go to and click on quot;elitistquot; gives you all the details
Sheeeet...I was considering going with a used Heritage or a Tokai Love Rock, but to get a brand new, maple/mahogany Paul for that price...I think I'm going to do it and throw in a set of Pearly's. Reverend tones here I come!!!
