hello all, i need assistance with a wiring diagram that's not on the duncan site. i hope someone can help.
i've got 2 seth lover pickups that need to be wired with a vol/tone/3 way mini switch (instead of a gibson style toggle). i've not been too successful finding a diagram for this. can anyone help?
thanks,
sully
welcome to the forum
you'll need a specific kind of 3 way mini switch called an quot;on-on-on / DP3Tquot; ...
from : localhost/guitarelectronics.zoovy.com/product/SWM23this assumes that you are expecting the switching to be quot;neck only / both (parallel) / bridge onlyquot; just like a standard LP style switch?
cheers,
t4d
correct, sir. that is the switch that i have, and yes, i'm looking for that neck/both/bridge setup.
thanks!
sully
you can use the volume and tone circuitry from a standard H-H schematic ... 500K audio taper pots ... 0.047 uF cap ...
from : localhost//website...tone_3way.html
(ignore the red/white wires - seths won't have them)
this help?
t4d
edit: wrong link, sorry ...
yeah, but how do i integrate the switch? (the link in your second post was the same as the first one. did i miss somethin?)
....i think i got it. thanks for your help!
i fixed the link, sorry
i thought you had the switch already, sorry ... do you have a switch operation data sheet for the switch you have? .. it should let you know how to do it .... without seeing exactly what you have, i cant tell how to wire it in ... it should be straightforward ... hot wire in from each pup and then a single output wire from the switch to the volume pot
let us know if you can get there from here ... others mightbe along to help out too
cheers
t4d
i am going to go out on a limb here and guess about the on-on-on switch you have ... double check me with an ohm-meter before you hook it up
Bb = Black wire from bridge
Bn = Black wire from neck
Op = output wire to volume pot
Bb====gt;[]---[]
Oplt;====[]---[]
Bn====gt;[]---[]
yes, those are yellow jumper wires you need to solder between the rows of terminals on the switch
clear as mud?
t4d
Hey T4D, I see you have this under control, but just to make things easier . . .those are the same type of switches my Peavey's use. Rather than worry about which terminals, Peavey, (and me), just use both top terminals, both bottoms and both middles.
Like this:
thanks artie ... much better with yours than with my quot;ascii artquot; ... and yeah, just doing both is better
cheers
t4d
I love your ascii art . . . very creative.
