Played a Fernandes Ravelle today and was stunned. Crisp and resonant, Duncans, lightweight, comfortable neck with wide fretboard, quilt top, and it was under $600 (used. It's at sam Ash on Sunset Bvd, Hollywood, if ya wanna try it)
Anyone have any impressions of this guitar? I heard they are made overseas, china if memory serves (the guitar didn't say). I'm not sure if I trust chinese goods considering my Made in China CD player lasted about 4 weeks.
I think Fernandes makes a great guitar for the money.
I have the Ravelle Deluxe.
It has the Jazz/JB combo in it.
Very nice sounding and playing guitar.
If the one you looked at has a quilt top, then that would be a
Ravelle Limited.
There are a few differences between them.
As far as I know the Limited usually have a maple neck instead of a mahogany neck like the Deluxe.
I believe the Limited comes with a 59/Custom instead of the Jazz/JB.
As far as origin of where made.
If the serial # starts with FG it's China.
If it starts with FSG it's Korea.
Many of us prefered the MIC.
Differences we noticed.
Smaller control cavity on MIC. MIK have LP type route.
Mahogany neck on MIC. MIK are maple.
Grover tuners on MIC. MIK are Gotoh.
1 piece neck on MIC. MIK have scarfed on headstock.
Deluxe has a tone control coil tap. Limited doesn't.
I've had my MIC Ravelle Deluxe since '03.
It's holding up great.
