I think that I've already read something about a pickup like this somewhere...

When it's clean, it has kind of a single-coil sound, but when you turn gain up, it gets fatter and more like a humbucker.

Is there something like this or am i dreaming?

Look around Dimarzio's site. I think it's the fred that's supposed to do that.

Thank you, but I'm just thinking about it for the future, when, maybe, I'll change the pickups of my ESP.
Right now I'm searching for a good amplifier.

Kind of sounds like he is describing a P-90?
