I think I finally figured out how come I could get such a good AC/DC tone out of my Recto.....

And I thought he used Marshalls.?.

On a side note, if you liked Zakk's early Ozzy Les Paul -gt; Marshall tone, you might be checking out the wrong amps.....

IIRC I remember reading that he combined the rack with a JTM 45 Halfstack (Greenbacks I believe) mic'd in an isolation booth ...

Angus only used that stuff for the Razor's Edge tour. However, he only used Mesa poweramps, the preamps are Marshalls.
As for Zakk Wylde, he did use Metaltronix amps for his first CD with Ozzy, No Rest For the Wicked. Everything since that though, he's used Marshall JCM 800 2203 amps with 6550 tubes.


This gives me a warm fuzzy feeling whenever I see it, followed by a feeling of extreme jealousy.

It's like an army of guitars waiting to attack at any moment.

Damn, I'm glad my rack days are long gone.
