I recently aquired a Supro 16T from the 60's. It has an 8quot; speaker and a wicked tremelo.
It's a bit noisy, and because it has the original plug, I tried the reverse the plug trick. Funny thing is it wouldn't power up when I turned the plug around. If I reversed it agian, it powered right up. This got me wondering if someone modified the plug so it would only work one way? Is this possible?
I dunno, but be careful u'r nose doesn't light up when messin' around. U should prolly get it checked out by a competent tech who can throw a 3 progger on there amp; replace the caps.
P.S. I heart my old supro.
I may take it to a tech to look over, but it looks like this one has a new transformer and probably had the speaker reconed, not sure about the caps. But I get the impression someone has already re-habed this amp. It sounds killer. Great bedroom amp. It's so organic, just fun to play with. I'm guessing someone disabled the plug from being able to be plugged in wrong? Cause it only works one way. Maybe I'm smoking crack. Anybody heard of this?
