i'm considering picking up a Rivera SUB 1 powered Los Lobottom (or perhaps a SUB 2) for sh!ts and giggles...like i need more low end lol. anyone have any info on them they could share? just a general review would be good i guess since i have never used one before. thanks.

I read cool stuff about them in Guitar player, and I usually agree with their reviews more than other mags. I've never played through one, but would like to.

I've heard good and not-so-good. The good is that they add quite a bit of chug, just like you'd expect. The not-so-good is that, depending on how you dial things in, you can end up in the bass player's part of the sonic spectrum.

that's fine by me man our last bass player in my band sucked and we booted him due to that and other reasons lol and we currently are rehearsing without one lol (yes we want a new one and are looking). i don't care if i step on the bass players quot;toesquot; who listens to the bass anyway lol. just kidding but that is good to know in case one day we end up with a bass player i actually want to hear play hahahaha i'll turn it down or off.

Hmm never found anything useful from the whole Lukather Rivera setup, I have sofar only heard one person who made it sound ok.

i'm listening to strung out right now and on their new album exile in oblivion they used it in the studio...diezel herbert head, bogner cab, rivera sub cab and the cd just sounds amazing!! i'm not one to want to sound like other people at all, i want my own damn sound lol...but adding a fat bottom end like that to my sound sure couldn't hurt!

Yeah if you can make it work, then you might just get that different sound

i may try one for the heck of it but man they are hard to come by used and i need to find a dealer with good prices if i decide to go new.anyone know any sites i can find prices on these that are reputable rivera dealers?-Mike

The tone on that album is freaking amazing. I love their tone. I talked to rob after their cinci show, he siad that the diezel was killer, but it was their producers not theirs.
