Here's a few clips I did at low volume with a SM 57.
from : localhost/
Mesa Solo 50 - quiet settings- everything at 0 except output at about 2, Master 1-2, presence 5, gain 5. (low, mid and highs set at 0)
JB Jr guitar - Pieced together (PTG) strat, Warmoth maple neck/board, basswood or alder body(can't tell), 500K pots
C-5 guitar - MIA Strat, rosewood board, alder body, 250K pots
I'd definatly give the guitar advantage to the MIA strat. The MIA strat is really heavy for a strat and the PTG guitar is extreemely light.
and incase my playing is so bad you can't tell-
1) My name is jonus - Weezer
2) When I Come Around - Green Day
3) Welcome to the Jungle - Guns and Roses
4) I Beleive in a Thing Called Love - The Darkness
5) Back in Black - AC/DC
6) Fight for Your Right - Beastie Boys
What? Schabby Junior? Sea-Bob?

Well, i found the JB best for the quot;classic rockquot; stuff and the Custom best for the modern stuff\punk
The JB had the bite, and the Custom had the heavyness, IMO
I preffer Jbjr
more rounded ickup
the C5 sounds like it´s reduced middles decreased the distortion level .

The C-5 seems to be more quot;in your facequot; and doesn't have those mids that I'm used to.
The JB Jr. seems to be rounded and can distort better.
JB Jr. gets my vote.
i preferred the JB jr. for everything except ACDC, where the more vintage sound of the C5 sounded better........overall, the JB jr seemed to have more sizzle and a more alive (distorted) sound.....but the C5 seemed a little tighter, better for the classic rock stuff
