Hey guys, just recorded this tonight! Got some better kick/snare samples, so the drums sound a ton better, and I used some tricks I learned on the Andy Sneap forum for the guitar tracks. All in all, I'm pretty happy with the result! Don't judge the mix too much, I haven't finalized it, nor even mixed the drumtracks or run the guitars through my BBE plugin. I'd really like opinions mostly on the song itself. It's quite a fast piece, 170BPM, in D minor. It's not quite finished, as I need to write more riffs and do some better arrangements, but those riffs that are in there I'm pretty sure are keepers! ESPECIALLY the intro! I really love that riff...

Guitars were tracked one panned left, one right, and one straight down the center, all ran through a Waves C4 plugin with Andy Sneaps settings. I used my Schecter through the the V-amp2 on the Modern Hi Gain setting, using only the bridge pickup. Bass was straight down the center, run through the V-amp2 with the preamp modelling bypassed. It's, again, my bassists Ibanez SDGR 5 string (only used 3 of em), with an EMG 89/89 set.

That sounds a LOT like an in flames riff I know

The production sounded pretty good but I think you could have cut it quite a lot louder without much trouble. Other than that though all I can say is it's a couple of pretty solid riffs. I should ask- what cab did you use on the modern gain sim? I notice for some reason on a lot of the cabs it doesn't really jump out at you, and the volume you hear it at is a lot lower before it starts clipping.

Anyway, that was pretty cool. Nice riffs, theres a lot of potential.
Mabe some reverb on the drums though

the riff is similar to some Hamerfall stuff.. the 2nd part i dont know.. doesnt sound THAt much like in flames... and it's too fast too LOLgood one little bro.. keep up the good work

Thanks for all the compliments, guys! I mixed it a bit better on this one, but the guitars still sound harsh to my ears. I'm pretty darn sure its the V-Amp, as I've rolled off everything about 7-12Khz.
