Hi
Sorry if this question was already asked... but I did search through 175 posts and not find the answer I bought a SD Hot rails from ebay. The guy who sold it says its original and he has good feedback. But I dont see a '' logo on the pup. It looks like a Hot rails and in the SD original box with a pickup wiring diagram and all that. How can I make sure I did buy a original and not a knock-off ?
I asked SD Tech support and they say that all Hot rails have the logo on them. The pup does not have any serial number on it and it just has a sticker on it with 'BS' written on it which, according to the seller stands for 'Bridge '.

please search for this item number in from : localhost/ebay.com item number 7316001877.

thanks

Hmmm . . . it is kinda odd. According to the website, there's no pup stickered with BS. (bad sign.)

Also, I have a white Cool Rails, and it comes with matching white tape. Other than that, it certainly looks like a Hot Rails.

Hard to say.

Here's what a Hot Rails normally looks like:
I bought a hot rails long long ago new in the box and it did not have a logo. It could be new old stock.

(BTW - Thanks artie, for the smooth pickup deal)

^yontz, the guy did tell me he bought the pup a few years ago and I am thinking pre 2002. It does look kinda old. But all wires are intact.
Artie, according to the pre-2002 identification, it says 'Triangular bottom'. what exactly is that ? Also, there is a black tape around it instead of white in the picture that you have put up. Yontz, what color tape is around yours ?

thanks

Thanks back atcha. I was just playing with the SSL-6. Its killer.

emp; here's what a quot;triangularquot; bottom looks like:

Hot Rails

(Image changed to URL to reduce bandwidth.)

^ Yup. Artie, That's exactly how the bottom is on the one I bought. Even the wires are exactly of the same color and patten. I more convinced now than before. Thanks a million !!

All of our Hotrails have the logo on them. Just like Arties

But that doesn't mean someone didn't remove the logo, it's easy to do and I have removed a few logos from my Duncans in the past.

The tape on mine was black, but the pickup was black as well. This was from the early 90's.. it was the only side by side SD strat pickup available at the time.. As I said, a LONG LONG time ago.

from : localhost//website...t/labels.shtml
BS = Hotrails Bridge, would by quot;Squot;...

I´ve seen Black tape on black or white bobbins, but have only seen white tape on white bobbins...I´m fairly sure at this point that yours is real....check it with an ohmmeter, a HR-bridge should read around 17k
