I just bought a new guitar with Schaller straplocks on them. I am embarassed to say I can't figure out how to install them. I have not been able to find any documentation either. Does anybody have any experience with them? Thanks.
You just use a washer and tighten the part with the pull button thing when you put it through one of your strap holes. Then you just slide it over the button on the guitar. Oh and when you screw it in the strap make sure the grooves are pointing up. This helps by holding your guitar even though the strap button thing is pulled because it opposes gravity.
Hmm, that's what I thought. I can't get the grooves to slide over the button. Okay, I'll keep working on it. Thanks!
Sometimes it helps me when installing the straplock portion on the strap, to cut away a small portion of the flap edges in the hole...making it somewhat bigger. Then you can thread the washer and nut onto the lock.

Confession time - I used Schaller strap locks for years before I realized that! I used to have them with the opening pointing downward. Never dropped a guitar fortunately.
I went through pure hell getting my strap locks on ... it was refriggindiccuuliss...took like 5 hours and ended up with me doing somtthing stupid like placing a chair let on each side (well its a circle so really on opposite sides) of the washer and having my wife sit on 1 chair and me on the other to get it to even have a chance of getting the screw to go on. It is really dumb that they don't give a little more in terms of an area to screw this on to. good luck and just keep trying in a day or 2 you should have it

If you cut away some of the flaps you'll get more post to work with. I would also suggest using a drop or two of Loc-Tite to keep the nut on. Alot of folks have success with Schallers because some of the flap gets caught in the thread and the pressure ends up holding it in place. The problem is that the material can get pulled and prodded and suddenly the function it had creating pressure isn't doing it and the nut starts coming loose.
A few drops of Loc-Tite will go a long way. I'm at about 20 years and counting with a guitar I play just about everyday.
Another thing is make sure nut is tightened enough on the strap with a wrench so it doesn't come off while you play. There are just about 2 turns or even less on the nut once its tightened on the strap
