Continuing where I left off in my Rammstein Strings post, I just got my strings yesterday. I got a set of GHS GBL and GBTNT, which are 10-46 and 10-52. I put the 10-52 strings on first and I do like them a lot, except I noticed palm mutes don't sound quite as chunky due to the tension of the strings, so maybe they're a bit too tight for that. I'm gonna use these for a while though, and maybe they will get a little better over time. At the end of the month I'm gonna put on the 10-46 strings and I'll let you know what I think of them when I do.
YES.. Please do! I usually use 10-46, but my new (used) strat has 9's on them right now and I was going to try 10-52's myself (to be used in standard tuning) please give a review.
Alright I decided today that I could not wait any longer so I put on the new strings. Besides, strings are cheap and I can get them almost anytime I want. Well I'm glad I did, they're perfect for me so far! Not too fizzy sounding and loose like the 9's I had before, but not too tight and thick like the ones I just had on earlier, but right in between. And for Drop D I think they are perfect. Again these are the GHS GBL strings which are 10-46. If you have any other questions about them feel free to ask.
Would you recomend me to go for 10-46 or 10-52??

What kind of music do you play exactly and what tuning do you use?
I play Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Classic Metal, Blues ... and The guitar it's going on will always be in standard.
regular 10-46 will work. For standard tuning you don't really need the heavier bottom since strings aren't loosened and you don't need the extra tightness. But if you fell more comfy with 10-52 just use it. It's my personal standard for all kinds of tuning.
Will it add some low end or some chunk to my chords?? I'm looking for it to sound meaner.

I use and really like GHS Progressive (dave mustaine signature) 10-52's
great palm mutes, very thick rock sound (standard tuning)
Rock On - kac
Good...good.
Yeah go with the 10-46 strings
Has anyone tried the DR colors? Do they sound different than the regular DRs? I use D'addarios right now, but have used DRs in the past and been satisfied, I'm just concerned that the colors would for some reason sound different.
