yeah i asked it twice cos i needed to know and no one seemed to be answering. I thought maybe with this thread the question would be more direct and people with no experience with an eq would also be more likely to answer.

I'll put the answer here just so it is but it's also in the other thread.

To put it in the effects loop, send to the EQ input, EQ output to the return.

In the online community, you can't always expect quick answers. It's not like we're all sitting around a big table having a chit chat. There's about a half hour posting time difference between your first thread and this one. Had it been a day or so without an answer, then just bump it up but most new posts get an answer of some sort within the same day. Patience, grasshopper.

Did you understand the answer, Rick?

Is that a quot;yesquot; or a quot;noquot;?

yes, one thing i don't know though is how the fx loop works, what is the benefit of having one?

effects loops send some of your preamp signal in, so that line noise isnt as noticeable as if it were just the dry guitar signal.. also, if you're using the amp for distortion, you don't distort the effect..

example - the flanger..

guitar --gt; flanger --gt; amp distortion = distorted flange sound.. not really what everyone wants!

guitar --gt; amp distortion --gt; flanger = you get the 'proper' effect

it depends on the amp though, and it also means you'll get distortion from the poweramp tubes if you run a tube amp hard

tom

It's a SS amp.

The effects loop is effectively after the preamp and before the power amp. By running the effect in the loop, you devote the Bandit's preamp to shaping the tone of the guitar and not the tone of the effect.

Because we're talking about an EQ here, it's a little different because there are a lot of people who will use them in front of the amp to alter the guitar tone prior to the preamp.

It's really a personal preference thing. Try it both ways, mess around with settings, and see what sounds better to you.
