what happens if you use an f-spaced pick up in a non trem guitar like a tele?

If you use a F-Spaced/trembucker pickup in a tele, i think you'll need a new bridge where the humbucker fits in!!
As the spacing might be the same as a strat, you would need a trembucker.
I even need f-spaced in my non-tremolo Gibson explorer!

That is because after a certain year (95 I think???) Gibson started using wider spacings on their bridges. I am fairly certian the Historics are standard still though!

Josh, you may be OK with the trembucker in the tele. It will all depend on your bridge (whether the pickup will fit in the hole or not). If it fits it may even line up with the strings better also????

Would I need a trembucker for my SG? I haven't gotten around to buying a replacement, and certainly don't want to get one that doesn't fit, I just assumed it was standard size.

Most humbucker tele bridges have narrower spaced saddles...

My 1990 SG had a 490 which are basically trem spaced, bridge is 2-1/16quot; pole center to pole center on the screw coil, neck is 1-15/16quot; pole center to pole center on the screw coil. I am not certain they were stock because I bought the guitar used.

nah, it fits. i routed out the cavity and used an old stock bridge i had lying around and just cut it in half to the bottom of the cavity then used a mounting ring on the bucker. i'm just waiting to get some saddles to see if its all gonna work.
