What do you guys think? I like the odeling on my VF-1 and really like the idea of touch sensitive channel switching and effects switching. I'm getting one this Monday, do you guys think it's a good buy?

The VF-1 was great, but I hated the amp sims...the older GP-100 (which I still have) is much better. Havent tried a GT8, but am interested in a GTPro. I don;t think the touch sensitivity is a main seller for me- I am one of those guitarists that like to control my sound all the time with little volume and dynamic changes. What I like about the new GTs is the 2 DSP chips, so delays and reverbs can trail off when you change patches.

What didn't you like about the amp sims? I didn't like all of them, but I think the 4x10quot; Fender sim sounds great when pushed. It doesn't sound like the real amp, but it's a great sound to my ears.

BTW, I plan on playing the GT-8 with a tube power section (50watt; 2x EL34).

Also, what's the GTPro?

The GT Pro is the rack version of the GT 8.lots more inputs and outputs, digital, analog, etc..effects loops, and more- all in 2 rack spaces.

The VF-1 couldnt clean up with the volume knob well, although the older GP-100 did a great job. The high gain sims were awful, like plugging into a stereo- no idea how they souded that bad with newer technology. Im actually looking to get a VF-1 again, just for the reverbs and compressors...lots of cool reverse pitch effects too- you can really do some cool stuff with that box.
