hi all, got another question for you....
i'm about to do some wiring, and i have a 2 hum/5 way blade/1 vol setup. now on a regular strat styled 5 way switch, i'd have no problems whatsoever.
but check out this switch that i received:
i've got the wiring diagram that i need, but the 5 way that i have is not like the one in the diagram. so, i'm pretty sure that the # assignments go like so, right?
if that's how it goes, then i'm off to wire this, and i thank you for your guidance!

I don't think thats correct. The trouble is, there's several variations of that switch. This layout is the most common:4 and 5 are the two quot;commonsquot;, and the other terminals connect from left to right as the handle moves right to left. (Contacts go opposite of handle position.)
Edit: On your switch, with the handle all the way to the left, 4 would be connected to 1, and 5 would be connected to 6. Then they move left from there. 4 to 2, 5 to 7, etc.
yikes. that's more confusing! lol
can you think of the modifications that i'll have to do for this switch to work with this diagram here: from : localhost//website...y-w-split.html
Use this as your quot;keyquot;:Let me know if that doesn't do it. I can customize that drawing. It just wouldn't be tonight.
(I'm running down.)
awesome, thank you so much!

One quick note: If thats a quot;jumperquot; thats built-in between terminals 4 amp; 5, you'll want to cut that for that wiring scheme.
wired up, and although there's no bridge or strings on yet, i can tap the pickups and hear them as they're supposed to be when i move the switch. that was, in fact, a jumper on there, so i clipped it off. thanks again, i really appreciate it!

Artie is a wiring beast!

hey sully is that u from the jcf forum? if it is its me marcelio.
yep.
lol i just saw your post on the JCF and then came here and saw you posted it here...i see you got it figured out...good. i was going to point you here for the diagram anyway since Artie is the king of wiring!

hey artie, after playing around with this a bit, i've decided that the configuration is a little different from what i'd prefer. if you don't mind diagramming this, i'd be very grateful.
the diagram that i used from the SD site (that i linked earlier in this thread) gives me this configuration:
1 - bridge
2 - neck and bridge together
3 - neck
4 - bridge humbucker and neck coil split
5 - bridge splitwhat i'd like is to have this:
1 - bridge
2 - bridge humbucker and neck coil split
3 - neck and bridge together
4 - neck split
5 - neck
lemme know, and thanks very much,
sully
I'll take a look at this when I get home from work tonight.
thanks again!
