I think it's cool. Sounds great especially with an Antiquitiy Texas Hot in the neck position.

Well I don't have a JV but I am quite fond of Jimmie. I met him maybe 2 years ago I have to say he was as nice a guy as you could imagine. I told him about seeing his brother on his first tour, how much I loved and missed Stevie and he really seemed touched. He must hear it constantly but he was as gracious and friendly as could be.

The JV has the best neck ever...IMO, satin finish and the soft V shape is butta. Got one on my Tele Gib too...great having 2 different guitars with the exact same neck.

Is it true the early models had a C shape neck?

There was a guitar very much like the JV before the JV was released called the Tex-Mex Strat. Has the same pickups, etc as the JV, but a C neck with a rosewood board. A lot of guys like these.

Thanks for taking the question ALF...the JV is a signature neck and has the softV shape, great for chords up at the nut and flatens out towards the heel for leads...so comfy to play.

Incase anyone didnt get it, his quot;twistquot; is the backward bridge pup.

Funny you should say that - I've been playing my Strat most of the weekend.

I picked up an RW/RP DiMarzio Blue Velvet bridge model on Ebay and stuck it in the middle position between the FS-1 and the Blue Velvet neck. Sounds great. Beefed up bridge tone but plenty of honk in the 2 and 4 positions.

Oops, I said Strat and DiMarzio.

Butnut... that's the only white strat I've ever liked.
