Made my choice....Should be here tomorrow

One of the 59s sold this morning according to Brandon at Willcutt, not sure which one, as I just decided to go ahead with the TSB based on all the reports of Hamer consistency. I've got 48 hours to give it a workout at any rate, so I'm not really concerned. Even if I had to ship it back, and order another and pay shipping for it I'd still be well under the price I was originally prepared to pay based on other online sites.

I hate to say it, but she's been neglected quite a bit lately Hard to beat the low end and sustain of that Faded standard. We'll see if the Hamer reputation can put em both out to pasture?

i decided to skip the other hamer and ordered parts for a 3rd build lol. i think i like building guitars better than just buying them and almost more than i enjoy playing them!

I was really worried when Brandon told em the one burst sold already as I had posted pics/links over at the Hamer FC forum of what I was interested in...thought someone was gonna snatch up the TSB too, LOL..Your pal Orangie woulda been my next choice

Jeff, you cannot let the FB go no matter how good the Hamer is. It's just too good of a guitar. I love my Kramer to death and she doesn't get played much either but I'm not gonna get rid of her either.

I really like the TSB colors on that thing though.

Unrelated, but you are really succeeding in your quest to spread GAS. I haven't made a major purchase in awhile, and I'm really starting to get the urge. GAS is like any other addiction. At first you buy gear because it gives you a high. Then you buy gear just to get that quick fix. In the end, you're buying gear because it's the only way you feel normal. Right now, I'm not feeling very normal.

The fellow from Wilcutt called me a few minutes ago and said my CC was denied! I about crapped my pants cos it's my checkcard and knew I had way more than enough to cover it in my acct..

Called up the bank (a little pi$$y)...it went over the daily $ limit by 80 bucks..so the girl increased it for me temporarily, I called willcutt back and Brandon ran it through again....good to go :whew:

Thanks guys! can't wait myself...I've been GASing for another Explorer and this guitar in particular for a few months...just felt I wanted/needed a change from Gibson proper..but still wanted something gibson-esque..hopefully this will fit the bill!

Hee hee...hope you can post pics!Joe...as I said in the other thread..I've been wanting something like this for awhile...saving money..sellin' stuff (guitar related and otherwise) I don't need/want. Like you mentioned in the Splawn thread, I really want to narrow down to 1, maybe 2 guitars...really nice ones...and a nice amp...couple peds...KISS type thing.

I don't like TSB's hardly ever...but like you said this is a little different..the color...plus I think it just looks right on that shape...especially with the binding. Hell, I usually can't stand an Explorer w/out a pickguard for petes sakes

good choice Jeff...that is going to be so gorgeous in person!!! i think Hamer's have the best finishes in the business period!!!!!! when you get it and take a real good look at it you'll see the subtle beauty of their finishes...it runs deep and in many layers! can't wait to hear your review!

I won't be able to spend much time with it until later tonite...my son is staying with me tonite and he'll keep me occupied between homework, superhero battling and whatnot til he goes to bed

Are you talking about the Willcutt guitar shop in Lexington Ky.? If so, thats my hometown and i deal with them alot! Very cool place to buy gear Very good selection too.
