i have an american strat. i need a bridge pickup to give me a full sound that can be good for playing blues to metal so its gotta be good w/ distortion. i also need the noise cacelling effect of humbuckers but dont want to drill a hole in my guitar and spend that much money so i want to put in a single coil sized humbucker..any suggestions???
Sure...JB Jr, Hot Rails, Duckbucker are starters. Personally, I like the Quarter Pound Strat, but it's not hum cancelling. Still, it's a great sounding pickup.
Hotrails or JBJr
If you want a Hotrails, it just so happens that I have a White one in like new condition lying around, PM me if interested
Welcome to the forum.
I like the Cool Rails in the bridge of a Strat too. Nice cleans, nice dirty.
The lil59 or Cool Rails are nice and the output will be fine for blues and rock.
The JB jr is hotter than those and will be better for hard rock and somewhat more agressive styles.
The Hot Rails is a great hard rock/metal pickup in a single coil sized pickup.
They will all work for what you want to do but the Hot Rails is definately the most agressive of the bunch.
