My blender pot is split shaft and I (like an idiot) order two solid shaft pots...will they work together?

They'll work together but you likely will not be able to use the same knobs on split and solid shaft pots.

Is there any particular benefit to useing split shaft pots? I find the knobs designed for them to be kinda annoying to work with. Either you're fighting to get them off or fighting to keep them on. The middle ground, where they hang on tightly but slip off easily when you pull with reasonable force, seems difficult to achieve. Plus, if it's set slightly too loosely, then you can overrotate which will often strip the threading of the knob. I much prefer a solid shaft with a tightening screw.

You can use knobs w/ a set screw on split shaft pots too. In fact I prefer it that way.

I always thought you get solid or split depending on the type of knob you're putting on there.

I always use split, and just look for knobs (with or without a set screw) that I like and will work w/ split shaft pots.

Set screw knobs on split shafts can often be a bit wobbly though...

Guitar Electronics.com makes an adaptor for that problem if you want to mess with it.
