I wonder if you could help !!

I wonder if you could point me in the right direction of a great quot;funkquot; pick up. I have a music man copy but looking to get a real clean and punchy funk sound !! I have a budget pick up of some description at the moment and just doesnt cut it !!

Any help or advice would be very gratefully received !!

Is your Music Man copy an OLP? I have an MM1 and I put a DiMarzio FRED/PAF Pro combo in it and it is fantastic. I think it would do funk with great success. If you want to go the Duncan route, I would do a JB/Jazz, C5/59, or Seth Lover combo...

for single coil sized pickups, i think that both the hot rails and the cool rails sound great for funk

Really? I could see the Ducks or Vintage Rails.

I guess I would say for a Strat SS1's or Surfers and for a Tele, just about any of the a5 Tele pickups.
