Okay, I broke a tailpiece on my licensed OFR on my Jackson. I can't get a replacement anywhere, and I want to upgrade it to an OFR. The only problem with this is that OFRs cost like hell here in Finland, and I can't afford one until sometime next year.
The question is: should I leave the guitar as it is with five strings or take them all off? How quickly will the neck start to warp? The string in question is the low E.
Thanks!
just guessing i'd say you have weeks or months before i'd worry.... unless the bridge is really pulling hard because of the broken string..... I'd unscrew the spring craw a little until the bridge is flat with the body again.... The uneven tention of missing one string i do not think will effect the neck too baddly if you loosen the spring tention a bit. Keith Richards has a bunch of teles with only 5 strings! ...

I have a Jackson OFR sitting around here. What part do you need? I will unload it for a good price.

You have what? An original floyd rose? Or a Jackson licensed copy? I have the JT-580LP copy. I managed to break the piece that the screw tightens again the string. Overtightening I guess.
