Has anybody else tried the newPhosphor Bronze Elixir strings on their acoustic?

I had been using the Nanoweb strings ever since getting my Taylor. After putting on the Phosphor-Bronze strings, the neck lost all relief and I had to adjust the truss rod (just a tweak). Same gauge, but the tension may be different. (Hygrometer doesn't show a big humidity change BTW.)

Not sure I like the tone of the Phosphor-Bronze strings as much anyway, but I'm curious about what you all think.

seen them but havent tried them. seems like a good idea, but who knows.
different materials can have different tensions. ive found that pure nickel strings tend to have more tension than steel strings tuned to pitch.

A nice lady from Elixir confirmed that the tension is different, but included charts in her email showing that the combined tension on a set of phosphor-bronze strings should be higher than the older nanoweb strings. Hopefully she'll respond to my second email and shed more light on this.

BTW the tone seems a little brassier, not as sweet, as the older nanowebs. However, a lighter picking style (or fingers) sounds pretty damn good. Just goes to show quot;It's always somethin'.quot;

thanks chip, i think i will stick to the nanowebs on my acoustic. I like the sound of those on the old martin

I tried them at NAMM. I thought they sounded terrible. I dont know wht it was that made them sound like that, but they sounded flat and lifeless. I got a few free packs and put one on. It killed my acoustics tone. Made it sound dull and dead. Needless to say, i still have the other few sitting around.
