Hey guys, I'm in the midst of replacing a row of pole pieces on my invader with a row of regular slot head screws hoping to get some more sing and clarity out of it. It seems though that no matter how much I twist them, the oxidized poles just sit at the same height and spin away, not coming loose or anything. Is there anything I don't know here or am I going to pull the whole PU apart? Thanks in advance for any help dudes.
Bryan
come on guys, I'd really like to get a new sound outta this thing
I don't have experience taking appart the invader but I have used one before. I don't think that you are going to achieve quot;singing clairityquot; from an Invader regardless of what pole pieces you use. IMHO
Thanks for the help...I'm not really asking for a mariacle, I like the way the pu sounds. I'm just looking for a little less beef and a little more sing.
If the pup is out of the guitar, can you push the screw from the backside to help it out as you turn?
Actually the pickup is still in my guitar, I was just looking to do this on a wimb, I get enough magnetic pull from the big friggin oxidized caps to pull somewhat but apparently not enough. It'd be nice to get someone in here who has tried something like this before, I searched for this but nothing really came up.
