Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone here could refinish a guitar for me. I want to buy an SG and have it redone with a quot;goldtopquot; finish. Anyone out there able to do this? I was wondering about how much it would cost? I would already have the finish stripped off the body before I sent it out for the refin.

First off you can probably finish over it so don't get too crazy about stripping it, you might even want to try it yourself, try poking around the Reranch Forum, you can always try our old buddy butnut.

I imagine you want the whole body in gold taped of at the neck? It would be tough or look weird on a SG with just the top done IMO because there is no binding and the natural lines on a SG doesn't lend it self to a tape line. I'm not taking on anymore jobs untill I find a more suitable workplace. But If you want to try it yourself with reranch stuff? I'd be glad to walk you thru it. The guy's on the Reranch board are very helpful as well.

thanks guys, i would really like to do it myself but at the moment I don't have a place to do it at. And yes KMC i want the whole body and neck done with a quot;goldtopquot; gold finish. After i get my superstrat together in Feb or so this is the project i want to work on in 2006.
