The local used guitar store has a new MIM 60's strat that came from a fender that used to be down the street but closed. I was there the day that the used guitar store bought it (the closing day of the fender dealer's store).

same color and everything as the one on that page.

they want like $575 or something around that much for it.

I dont have that much money right now but I'm just wondering if its even worth for?

I just got one of those off of ebay for $400 shipping of about $40. Same color and everything. The previous owner refinished the neck in nitro and put american standard strat pickups in it (which SUCK by the way).

I'm really pleased with this guitar and the quality I think is just as good as the way more expensive american strats. I've heard Lew say that the MIM pickups are actually pretty good.

As far as the price? I don't know what they go for new but I'd pay that if I could get mine again with pickups that sound like I want.

Does the one you're looking at look exactly like that shade or does it look better in person. Mine is more vibrant and blue.you can get a way better deal that $575...the MIM pickups are not so great (I belive Lew was talking about the MIM pickups in a Jimmy Vaughan, which are different)...either way you can beat that price on Ebay or even just look hard for one in a mucis store. I got my JV for quite a bit less that that and IMO the JV is a far better guitar that the MIM Classic stuff, not that the Classic stuff is bad, I just think that the JV is better.

I would look for an '80s japanese Fender instead. Or a Tokai from the same era. Excellent guitars in many ways but often need new electronics.
