I just completed a major renovation on my gibson LP studio
New Parts List:
Grover Locking Rotomatics
Graph-Tech Nut
New Tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece
EMG 81 amp; 85 (including new pots, jack, switch, etc)
Also, wrapped my strings over the top of the stopbar for the first time

My guitar sounds very twangy now compared to its old tone (including when not plugged in, so its probably not the pickups). Anyone know if it would be coming from the graph-tech nut or from wrapping the strings? If its the nut, I may be switching back to good ol' bone.

The nut should only have an effect when the strings are played open, so my bet is on the bridge change.

If anything the Graphtech nut should soften the sound a little....I know the graphtech saddles do, so I doubt that's it. You may be hearing more resonance from having the tailpiece screwed all the way down since you top wraped the strings. Also, did you go with the lightweight tailpiece...this will add some brightness to you tone, and the ABR type bridge has a slightly brighter tone than say the Nashville.
