Okay! Here are the pics that I promised The color isn't exactly right in the picutres, at least in my monitor the guitar is too red...it's more brownish in real life.
Tried to take some pics of the neck as greendy(if i remember right) asked for that.
My pedal board with the V-Stack quot;installedquot; I had just about enough room left for it since it was a little bigger than the Boss-style pedals...
Feel free to comment and ask questions!
Very nice. Can I have it?
Got a question on the pedalboard. What kind of connectors are those on the patch cables. I've seen them on a few others and Robert Keeley uses them too.
Now the ultimate question: How does she sound?
Thanks alot for the pics. The neck looks like a nice shape. The guitar looks great, would have thought it was a gibson les paul if it wasn't for the logo and other small stuff. I noticed the shine its not like other les pauls I have seen. Is it just light and pictures taken or in person it has a lot more shine to the finish?
AWESOME!!!
Got a few questions for you...
1) Is this a modern Tokai or one from the 80's?
2) Where did you buy it? Ebay? Guitargai?
3) Most importantly....how does it sound?
4) The amp is sweeet. How do you like the Bluesbreaker?
Jonny
Thanks! and no, you can't have it
The cables are George L's ( from : localhost/Very good if you wan't to make a neat guitarrig without cable clutter. I recommend them!
And an answer to the ultimate question! She sounds just beautiful, really amazing! A perfect match with my telecaster, now I can enjoy both the beauty of singlecoils and humbuckers. The stock pickups were better than I actually expected and I really like the matte finish on the flametop...
Here's a clip I recorded with the V-stack, the day after I got the Love Rock.... little rough take, but I think it at least gives you kind of an idea about the sound...it's not like listen to it IRL though but, check it you if you didn't listen to it in the Tipsamp;Clips section already!

from : localhost/like the tone on that clip. Are you playing through the neck pup and the Bluesbreaker amp?
I was thinking of buying a Tokia Love Rock. Did you get a new one or is it from the 80's?
Didn't notice that you wrote before I answered to Eriks questions....Originally Posted by greendy123Thanks alot for the pics. The neck looks like a nice shape. You're welcome, just ask me if I can help you with providing more pics or anything else before you order... I won't help you with paying it though
It's a matt/matte (don't know how it's spelled) finish so it's actually not shiny at all...or it's shiny, but not in the way that a clearcoat finish is. It feels a little quot;satin-likequot; when you touch it.Originally Posted by jonnymangiaAWESOME!!!

1) It's a new one
2) Ordered it from Ishibashi Webshop (Japan), great guys to deal with!
3) Cool that you liked the clip...it's the Love Rocks bridge pup, but actually just into the V-Stack and direct into my computers soundcard. (I live in an apartment so I can't play the bluesbreaker as loud as I'd want to...that's why I bought a V-stack to get a vintage marshall sound at bedroom level)
4) The amp is Sweet, you're right I won't trade it away, I feel real comfortable playing it...fits me perfect. I bought it used for 700€... so I got a good deal
Thanks for all the props JumpMarine and Hoss, it keeps me inspired!

Cool. I'll have to check those out. I love the connectors. Nice and compact.
Ver ynice, I liek the subtle flame. Looks awsome! You have a great clean room for your stuff too!
Thanks for the answers. It's a sweet guitar and I LOVE that amp. I wanted one but I figured it was too loud for my apt. I'll have to look into that quot;V thingquot; you mentioned.
BTW - can you post some clips playing through the neck pup?
THX!!
J
That looks awesome. And that setup you have is nice and clean, I like it.
Very nice!
Now if you would, could you please pop out the neck pickup and take a pic of the cavity to see top thickness and tenon length.
Thanks!
Kent
Your rig is like a freaking showcase. Very nice stuff...
Great Guitar!!!!!!!!
Sweet! How about a pic of the back of the headstock?
By the way, anyone thinking about buying a new Tokai should hurry up, because they will raise their prices soon (LS70 becomes LS75 etc.). And there will be new high class models, too, aiming at the Reissue market.
Eresseraca, did you have to pay Finnish customs and taxes yet or not?
very cool i'm lovin' the tokai, real nice!! also your whole rig is great man, so clean and simple very nice work. also as for the tokai, i'd just swap out that truss rod cover for a blank gibson bell shaped one since for some reason that truss rod cover on that headstock is driving me crazy lol. silly nit picky thing but that's just me lol.

Wow! Nice that you all like my rig Originally Posted by jonnymangiaThanks for the answers. It's a sweet guitar and I LOVE that amp. I wanted one but I figured it was too loud for my apt. I'll have to look into that quot;V thingquot; you mentioned.

Yeah the V-Stack is a really good alternative for vintage marshall sound on apartment level...it does everything from subtle overdrive to crunching dist... cleans up very well with the guitars volume pot and responds in a similar way as an tube amp. I use it both in front of the amp (as you see on the pedalboard pic) and as a direct recording device.
Here's the link to their site (I bought mine used though since I live in europe, where they cost all too much new) Here's their page: will do some more soundclips for you with the neck pup through the V-stack, but they'll be up sometime next week 'cause I'm going quot;homequot; to visit my parents this weekend. Check back on this thread, I'll post links both here and in the Tipsamp;Clips forum.
