Specifically for rails, does a bridge pup sound different from a neck one?thanks,
Jan
Just like regular pickups, the bridge is usually higher output, and the neck is lower.
yeah the whole reason behind different 'neck' and 'bridge' models is they sound slightly different and are more aptly suited for either 'neck' or 'bridge' possitions.

The width of the string's vibration near the neck is much wider (and therefore has much more engergy) than by the bridge. Bridge pickups have to be stronger to compensate for the lower energy.
Thanks, so I think I should have no problem putting the SVR1b into the middle position, when using Cool Rails in the others.
