I soldered in some new pickups (SH-2N and a TB-4) on my Jackson Kelly. The job is simple enough with no tone control.

The jazz neck pickup sounded loose so I wiggled it around and got it working. Later I resoldered the hot/black wire to the post... went to check it and it was completely dead.

I resoldered the ground (bare green) to a different part of the switch and even tried grounding it to the back of the pot, still nothing.

The red/white wires are soldered together and taped off so... I'm stumped. I have my multimeter out, Is there a resistance check or anything like that to make sure the toggle switch itself isn't the problem?

On almost all toggle switches, the center lugs will be the common. The common will connect with the terminal thats opposite the handle direction. Like this: (This is a 3-way. Ignore the center position.)You should have close to zero resitance between the center and the terminal thats connected. There will always be 1 to 4 ohms residual.
