Vote on which you think would be a better buy. Both are considered Marshall in a box pedals.
V-stack: 160€ (190$)
Fulltone OCD: 170€ (201$)
The prices are for two used ones that I found...
listen to /play with both and figure out which one you like better.... at that price point there´s no reason to buy a pedal you´re not 100% sure about
Of the 2, the V-Stack is closer. The OCD doesn't come anywhere close. You should consider the PlexiTone.
I haven't tried the fulltone but I owned the V-Stack. I sold it after I had John (Stratdeluxer here on the forum) mod my Boss DS-1. The modded boss pedal served the same purpose and actually sounded better to my ears. Also, $190 sounds high for a used V-Stack. Mine sold for $135 on eBay and that was pretty much what they were going for at the time (2 months ago).
I'd personally go for the OCD, but I'm not sure if it's really supposed to be a quot;Marshall in a boxquot; pedal.
Won't be able to play them cause the musicstores around here sucks bigtime! I listen to all clips I run over on the net now.
Badco, do you have any clips of the V-stack ?
The possitive thing about the V-stack would be the option to record with it and play with headphones late at night. As my amp is a non-mv bluesbreaker.
For V-Stack clips, see the V-Stack website, or check out this guy: from : localhost/He has made some clips with V-Stacks towards the middle of the page.
I have a V-Stack BHM, it's very nice, but I haven't tried the Classic, so I can't comment on its sound.
As for me, I wouldn't care about the direct recording thing. The BHM sounds way better through an amp, even at very low volumes. (Still sounds better direct than POD's, though.) I'd buy a cheap but killer mic like an ElectroVoice Co4, or something more expensive, if you have the funds, and would record the sound that way. It'll have better note separation (both the BHM and Classic have a strong mid content in their sound) and will really sound like a cranked plexi. The 'Cut' control isn't only for cab sim, you can easily manipulate the timbre of the sound with it when used together with the Bass cut.
$190 is a ridiculously high price for a used V-Stack considering that they sell for $199 new on the official website.
In sweden they sell for 240€ new that would probably be like 280$!! And in Finland I haven't even found one (the used one is also from sweden) Buying from their website it would not be I good buy either because of the damn shipping costs for overseas shipping. And a possible importtax on top of that...
Gotta try to talk the guy down if I decide to buy a V-Stack. Yeah I've already checked the V-stack webpage clips. Thanks for the Abergdahl Soundclick link. Sound really really sweet! Made me GASsin a bit
I don't have any samples but they have samples posted on their website:
from : localhost/used it through my amp as a boost and distortion pedal. After John modded my DS-1 I didn't need it anymore as the DS-1 dioes a better job. For direct recording or a headphone amp the V-Stack would probably be better as it does have that Cut control so you can manipulate and tailor the tone a little better. It kind of lets you dial in a mid range boost if you want it.
If you are going to get one, definitely check eBay cause there were a lot of them listed and they weren't going for that much.
I check the samples on their website and the soundclick link that Peterku posted. It sounds really SWEET!
That was what I thought about...because I'm kinda in need of something to record with also. I think I'll mail the guy tomorrow, and try to discuss the price...
I checked the Bay (both ebay.com and ebay.de) but the wierd thing is that I don't find a single one :o
Searched o V-Stack, VStack, V Stack ...etc. nothing!? Is my internet connection joking with me or :P

I did some search, too. It seems there aren't any V-Stacks on Ebay now.
If you get the Fulltone....and if you have any pedal, delay or something like that, you might get into impedance trouble.
my vote is for the v-stack but i've never even tried the OCD. so i guess my vote doesn't count! but i did just dig the v-stack so much i had to add my 2 cents......
