I have played the Krank Revolution and i think it may be the best modern style heavy rock and metal amp. Especially the rythmn sounds, nice clean channel too. The lead sound is very nice, the only quot;problemquot; is the sustain isnt quite as good as say a Bogner, still excellent overall. Anyways, apparently the Krankenstein is a quot;hot-roddedquot; Revolution? How is it different sounding? Are the changes subtle or are they truly different beasts?
The only thing I know is that the Krankenstein was specially made for Dimebag Darrell's purposes. But other than that, I have a question for you...where did you try a Krank Amp? What store?
At Skip's Music in Sacramento...
Damn that doesn't help because I live in Rhode Island! lol thanks anyway
Hey, good to see somebody else keeping the faith .
Generally, the krankenstien is really just a revolution with a tad more gain and an overall master volume control from what I hear. IMO The revolution 1 has enough gain as it is, but you cant always please everybody.
I loaded up my Revolution 1 with JJ/tesla 6l6GC's and that made it sound even better, I thought the stock sovtek 5881's gave the amp an overall grainy character. The JJ's really smooth it out. Its a truely dominating heavy guitar amp, but what I really love about it is it can do so much more than just that.
