hello all.sorry i am new and dont know that much of guitarpickups so...
i have build my own tele(ash body,maple neck a kind of 52 look.)
i have already a nice bridge pickup so now i need a neck pickup for my tele.there is only place for a single coil format pickup in the body(standard tele body configuration)so i wanted to use a humbucker in singlecoil format.i like the tele hotrails(sthr1b hotrails).can i use that for in the neck position?will this fit?if yes do i connect it like a normal singlecoil pickup?cause i heard some things likequot;4 swithquot; andquot;out of phasequot;etc..for tele and its a little bit confusing to me

a sthr1b might not be a good choice as it is the bridge version but they do make a neck version the sthr1n that would work fine and have some similar characteristics.

i recommend the seymor duncan vintage stack for tele - neck pickup .. it looks and sounds like a tele neck pickup should, but has no hum ... i use it in my tele-clone and like it alot .. and yes, you can use a 4-way switch to provide both series and parallel combinations with the bridge pickup -i do this and really like the different sounds it gives

Hey Phil, Welcome to the Forum!

The hotrails for strat might fit, depending how large your pup cavity is. Generally if a pup route is vintage sized the strat pups will not fit. For a quiet neck tele pup, I'd suggest going with T4D's recommendation. A lil 59 for strat (if a strat pup will fit) would probably be your best bet for a bucker neck sound.

thank you al for welcoming me you guys are very helpfull!i hope the strat hotrail pickup will fit my tele bodys neck cavity.because i actualy wanted to buy a body with a real size humbucker cavity.but i had a limited budget so i bought a body with only standard tele pickup(2 singlecoils)but i wanted a humbucker sound so thats the reason that i like the hotrail(or little 59)they sound really nice and stronger then normal tele pickups.so i hope it will be alright and that the strat hotrail will fit.many thanks all for the help!when my guitar is finisched,ill post a picture,its a real beauty
