Okay, either talk me out of this... or tell me it's a good idea

from : localhost/is at least one other thread discussing this guitar. I really think I would like it. I talked to my wife about it and she was going to let me buy it, but I assurred her that I really didn't need it... but the more I think about it, the more I would like it.

The problem is: I have a Washburn Idol WI14 that I just upgraded with a set of SD pickups: a JB and Jazz. It's silver and plays really nice. In a lot of ways it is very similar to the Showmaster.

If I bought it, I would probably try to sell the Idol.

Am I being suckered in by the Fender name? Is it really that much better than my Washburn?

We really can't afford it - but on the other hand, is this one of those deals that I'm going to kick myself about later?

Or should I just save up my money and try to buy an American Fender Strat down the road? (I currently also have a heavily modded strat copy)

I honestly don't know what to do. Any discussion would be appreciated,

Never mind... After a lot of soul-searchiing I changed my mind... decided to go with what I need instead of what I want... and what I need is a low price bass for my recording projects.
