Okay, two posts in one night...but the other one isn't really quot;forquot; me...so I'm doing this one...for me.

Anyway, I'm looking for a boost pedal just to BOOST my signal. I don't want to add any gain, grit, guts, or extra stuff to my signal. All I want to do is give it a clean boost.
However, upon searching sites like pedalgeek.com and musiciansfriend.com I've been bombarded with about two dozen different types of boosters.

Now I like the 'one knob one job' design of the T.Miranda Booster, Carl Martin Hydra Boost, and the Nick Greer Sonic Boom but they all seem, I dunno, like the same thing in a different package. yet, they probably aren't right? what are the subtle differences? what's the best? I'm really interested in the T.Miranda though, so if you have any info about that...

...or any boost pedal for that matter. I also know that some of you are duty bound to proclaim the SD Pickup Booster as THE BOOST, which is cool, and I'll take any advice on that one I can get.

Here's some booster pedals I'd recommend:

Fulltone Fatboost
ZVex Super Duper 2in1 or SHO
Pickup Booster
MXR Dyna Comp

All of them work great at what they do, but imo the ZVex Super Duper is most versatile because it has 2 channels which can be used in combination to form different boosts.

I'd go pickup booster (for the most transperent boost) although i don't see y slightly improving ur sound with a booster hurts

Don't forget the Boss GE-7 graphic EQ. It can give gobs of boost, and also let you tweak the tone of the boosted signal to taste. I've used one for years; it's great for driving the snot out of a Marshall's front end. Some people think they're noisy, but Stratdeluxer97 can fix that for you.

Those are some noisey...

One thing is, its is going to be hard not to alter your tone with any boost as the hotter signal is gonna hit your preamp a little harder.

Mike Britt from Lonestar dropped by the factory today. (Great guy and great player, BTW). Anyway, he demo'd the SFX-01 Pickup Booster and left with one.
