that just didn't work for you. Not that its a bad pickup, but for whatever reason didn't work for your style guitar etc.

I think that some pickups sound great in some guitars and really bad in others! Sometimes it can be the same model guitar...

So far the PG, Distortion and Stag Mag.

the Twangbanger didn't do it for me, like everyone else, which led me to think that pot values, caps, etc make a difference

Oh Lawd yes!!!!!! I HATE JB'S!!!!! They just do not work with me at all.

I have tried it in LP's, Jackson's, Fender's, 250K pots, etc. I still hated it!!!

I didn't care much for the Invader when I tried it back in the day, and I'm pretty indifferent to the Jazz right now.

I forgot about the JB. I didn't reall care for it when I had it, but I listen to a couple of songs I recorded with it and I think....damn, that sounds pretty good.

I must say the JB. Had it in a Les Paul and just sounded harsh. Others love it so much, and I can't stand it!

screamin deamon

JB and C5

The JB is just not for me.

I can´t say JB because it´s the perfect neck pickup....

But I´ve never really cared for the C-5....too scooped, too much bass...I dunno, never liked it...

Huuuuuum, JB.. for the moment.

I can't stand the JB. I had one in a mahogany body guitar and a pair in an alder body superstrat. All three of them did not agree with my playing style. Having said that, I've heard some other guys get great tones out of their JBs. Oh well, such is life.

One mans pup is another mans poison.
THe JB did not work for me either, but the DD did.

The Live Wire Metal-Set. I liked each pickup for itself alone, but I never found a guitar were i liked both pickups together.
Liked the Live Wire metal (bridge) on a hamer diablo, but not the live wire neck (classic)
Where i liked the live wire neck, i didn't like the live wire metal.

i couldn't stand the JB few months ago and I gave it up. I just couldn't stand the middy focused tone and the bad cleans. But now I gave the pickup another chance, just assuming it's weakness. Now I love it, It has some of the bests overdriven tones I've heard.

The Stag Mag didn't work for me at the end...

59n.

I have had so many pickups that didn't do it for me. Not all of them Duncans either.

The Duncans would be Pearly Gates, Sreamin Demon, Alnico II single coil, Hot rails, HB-102 amp; HB-103 and Custom Custom although I liked the Custom Custom the best and should have kept it.

Dimarzios would be PAF, Double Whammy, Al Dimeola, Super 2, Air Norton, Humbucker from hell, and Paf Pro. I am still trying to make the Humbucker from hell work for me.

Fender Texas Specials.

Gibson Dirty Fingers.

Kent Armstong Mega Distortion.

Bill Lawrence XL-500. I am still trying to make this one work for me. Good tone just not enough power.

Carvin pickups. Horrible single coils serviceable humbuckers.

EMG 81 and 85. I hate EMG's.
